What We Do

EdTech Strategies, LLC is a full service E-rate consulting firm, providing a wide range of E-rate related services to schools, school districts, libraries, state agencies, and associations throughout the United States. We provide end-to-end E-rate services, tailored to meet the needs of each client. These services include assistance with procurement and application preparation, application filing, program review processes, funding commitment and deadline tracking, invoice review and invoice tracking, and appeals. We also do on-site and virtual trainings, strategic consulting, and more. We assist our clients with compliance with program rules and requirements, while also getting the benefits from the Universal Service program to which they are entitled.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS

We work with a range of school districts across the country, ranging from smaller, rural districts to some of the largest in the nation. We understand that each district is different and has different needs, strategies, and challenges.

LIBRARIES

We understand the unique needs of libraries, library systems, and library consortia with participating in the E-rate program. We work with a range of libraries, library systems, and library consortia to help them receive the benefits of the program within the context of their individual needs. We work with a range of school districts across the country, ranging from smaller, rural districts to some of the largest in the nation. EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AGENCIES, CONSORTIA, AND STATE AGENCIES

We work with state agencies, ESAs, and other consortia around the country, providing everything from hands on application support for wide area networks to strategic and programmatic guidance for entities that provide E-rate support to other applicants. We provide training and ongoing support for applicants on behalf of state agencies and ESAs in order to ensure that their eligible schools or libraries are able to successfully participate in the E-rate program.  We understand and help our clients overcome the unique challenges state agencies, ESAs, and consortia face in the application process.

About Us

EdTech Strategies, LLC, founded in 2002, provides unique expertise in the realm of E-rate program support, education and information technology, education funding, and project management.

Linda Schatz brings more than 35 years of education technology experience to EdTech Strategies. Before co-founding EdTech Strategies, Schatz was the Vice President of Outreach and Education for the Schools and Libraries Division of the Universal Service Administrative Company, where she was responsible for applicant services and outreach, including the development and presentation of training materials about the E-rate program, the design of implementation procedures to meet program rules, oversight of the SLD’s Client Service Bureau which managed over 150,000 calls seeking support annually, and the development and streamlining of online applications for the E-rate program. Prior to her work with the E-rate program, Schatz was responsible for the design and implementation of the Iowa Communications Network, a statewide video, voice, and data network serving the needs of schools, libraries, colleges, and universities. In addition to her work on the ICN, Schatz led the Michigan Information Network, providing E-rate training and statewide technology services to education and library agencies throughout the state.
Aleck Johnson has worked in the education and information technology field for more than 20 years. In addition to consulting at USAC prior to co-founding EdTech Strategies, he has coordinated a number of political efforts before the Federal Communications Commission and Congress around the E-rate, instructional television fixed service, cable open access, intellectual property, and low power FM radio. He previously worked for the American Library Association, American Association of School Administrators, and founded his own consulting firm providing services to a broad range of associations, nonprofits, and for-profit companies.
